It was six months ago when we had that crazy storm that covered our secluded home and quarter of a mile driveway with at least 24 inches of snow. Practically the moment that we lost our power, Jason got a ring on his cellphone. It was Matt. Matt and Amanda were worried that we would freeze to death in our cold, powerless home, and they insisted that we stay with them for the duration. Jason and I were so touched, not to mention relieved and grateful by this unexpected phone call. We packed a few things, made a fire so our kitty, Chopper would be a little cozy and stayed over Matt and Amanda’s for the next few days. Amanda and I played a lot of Mario Kart, and Matt and Jason would trek back to our house once a day to keep the fire going for Chopper and make sure he was fed. During this whole time, I realized that I was experiencing the gift of true friendship. When Jason and I met their families and bridal party at the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner party, we noticed that everyone there shared the same love and admiration as we did towards Matt and Amanda. They are thoughtful, selfless and kind, and Jason and I are grateful to have such wonderful friends in our lives.
Their wedding ceremony was held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and the reception was at the Jefferson Theater, both located in Charlottesville. Matt and Amanda wanted a more photo journalistic approach to their wedding photos with minimal portraits. Here are some of my favorite images from their wedding along with a list of some of the wedding professionals who made the weekend fabulous!
